The same play from the Western Conference semi-finals resulted in Asprilla being fined after a closer look by the MLS Disciplinary Committee.

The Independent Review Panel, made up of one representative from the NFL, one representative from the Canadian Football Association, and one independent representative nominated by the Professional Referees Organization, rejected the Portland Timbers’ appeal of a red card issued to redirect Dairon Asprilla in the 90+ minute of their game against the Colorado Rapids. On November 25.

As a result of Portland’s appeal being denied, Asprilla is ineligible to play during their next game – the Western Conference Final – on December 4 against Real Salt Lake (6:30 p.m. ET | FS1, FOX Deportes).
