Korda Coming Back At U.S. Women’s Open | LPGA

Leave it to the always understated Nelly Korda to make the biggest announcement in the women’s game through a one-liner on Instagram.

Korda, the current No.2 in the Rolex Rankings and reigning KPMG Women’s PGA Championship winner, has been out of commission since early February with a blood clot in a subclavian vein in her left arm. She posted pictures in the hospital after surgery, and recently uploaded a video of hitting herself wedges while wearing a compression sleeve.

Friday was the first time she let the world know about her immediate plans.

Korda reached No.1 in the Rolex Rankings last year with four wins, including a major, and an Olympic gold medal. She was named Female Player of the Year by the Golf Writers Association of America.

She is scheduled to meet with the media at Pine Needles Resort and Lodge on Tuesday at 10:30 am, two days before the opening tee shots of the 2022 US Women’s Open.
