It’s been a rough start to the new season for Brooklyn Nets big man Blake Griffin, who was recently dropped from the rotation after a period of poor play at the start of the year. Just six months after scoring 40 minutes in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals, putting together 17 points and 11 rebounds while being asked to guard Giannis, Blake found himself completely out of the netting course. With so many Brooklyn players recently entering the league’s health and safety protocols, Blake finally got his number back.
In his last two games as a starting power for Brooklyn, Blake averaged 15 PPG, 7 RPG and 4 APG over 50% of the field. Taking many accusations, and doing many more plays, Blake apparently got back into playoff form. Capping his solid play in those two games, he was the third dagger that helped close the Philadelphia 76ers at home on Thursday.
Matt Brooks from NetsDaily mentioned After the match, Nets star Kevin Durant was asked about Blake’s shot, and he said, “Man, that was a big shot. That’s what we need from him.” Blake struggled with his shot all year, but with Philly sending an aggressive trap at Durant, he left it wide open.
The Brooklyn Nets are now 21-8, sitting alone at the top of the Eastern Conference.
