Cricket West Indies on Friday, June 3 clarified the absence of the major players in their series against the Netherlands. The Caribbean team is without the services of Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd in the three-match ODI series against the Dutch. However, that has not stopped them from taking an unassailable lead in the series and they will be hoping to take 10 more ODI super league from the final match. The board confirmed that the players have been stuck in England since arriving due to the delays in their visa procedure.

The board stated that the players could not have their interview scheduled in the bio-secure bubble while playing in the Indian Premier League, but despite flying out directly to London and following through the procedure, the confirmations had not arrived.

Both Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd were key fixtures for the respective teams going into the tournament. While Powell showed his exceptional pace hitting capability for Delhi Capitals, SunRisers Hyderabad’s Shepherd did not get a lot of games. The two players will now fly out to Pakistan, where the team plays three ODI fixtures from the postponed series in 2021.

The West Indies Squad will travel from Amsterdam to Pakistan on Sunday for matches at the Multan Cricket Stadium on June 8, 10 and 12.
