KARACHI: Pakistan women’s cricket team’s right-arm pacer, Fatima Sana, has received her trophy for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Emerging Women’s Cricketer of the Year award for 2021.

It is pertinent to mention that, Sana, showed exceptional performance in the calendar year 2021 as she bagged 24 wickets with a one five-wicket haul and a four-wicket haul.

Meanwhile, she informed about receiving the trophy on her official Twitter handle.

“Alhumdullilah. It’s an absolute honor to receive the trophy of ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer Of The Year,” she tweeted.

“Onwards and upwards InshaAllah. Pakistan Zindabad,” said Fatima, expressing her intent to perform well in the future as well.

It should be noted that Sana is also the first Pakistani women cricketer to win an ICC award.

“20-year-old Pakistani pacer Fatima Sana impressed one and all with her all-round efforts in 2021. She became an integral part of Pakistan’s ODI and T20I side owing to her wicket-taking ability as a bowler, and ability to add handy runs down the order at the same time,” said the ICC.
