Entering their name in the history books on Tuesday, members of the Bahrain women’s cricket team enjoyed a record-fest outing against the Saudi Arabia side in an action-packed T20I match. Bahrain women’s cricket team created the world record by registering the highest ever total in the shortest format of the game.

Playing a captain’s knock for her team, star batter Deepika Rasangika top-scored for the Bahrain women’s cricket side against Saudi Arabia. Rasangika-led Bahrain women’s cricket team locked horns with Saudi Arabia in match No.7 of the GCC Women’s T20I Championship 2022 at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket Stadium.

Leading her side from the front, premier batter Rasangika played a scintillating knock against Saudi Arabia to help the Bahrain women’s cricket team script a new T20 record. Rasangika smashed a sublime 161 off 66 balls and the skipper remained unbeaten to make sure her team register the gigantic total.

Rasangika-inspired Bahrain women’s cricket team registered a mammoth total of 318/1 against Saudi Arabia at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket Stadium. Rasangika also became the first woman to register a 150-plus score in the shortest format of the game. Bahrain women’s team also smashed the record for the highest run rate in an innings with an NRR of 15.9.

Bahrain women’s cricket team defeated Saudi Arabia by a massive margin of 269 runs to pick up a comfortable win. Chasing the record total, the Saudi Arabia women’s cricket team only mustered 49/8 in the 20-over contest. The massive win is also the second-largest triumph (by margin) in women’s T20s. Interestingly, Bahrain scored the record total without hitting a single six. Rasangika Herath scored 161 not out against Saudi Arabia to become the highest run-scorer in women’s T20s. Herath has shattered Alyssa Healy’s unbeaten 148 by achieving the massive feat.
