Crystal Palace coach Shaun Derry leaves role at Premier League club

Crystal Palace’s first-team coach Shaun Derry has left his role with the Premier League club.

Derry, who represented Palace for six years as a player over two spells, was brought to the club’s academy as Under-23s head coach in 2019.

He was then promoted to a place as a first-team coach by Patrick Vieira shortly after the Frenchman arrived at Selhurst Park in the summer of 2021.

But he has now departed that position.

The 45-year-old has previously managed Notts County and Cambridge United.

As a player, he won the First Division play-off final with Palace in 2004 and then, in his second spell, helped them avoid relegation to League One in 2010.

Derry also spent time with Queens Park Rangers, who he helped win promotion to the Premier League, Notts County, Portsmouth, Sheffield United and Leeds United.

Palace are currently 12th in the Premier League after a run of just one win in their last five games.
