Alexander Zverev shares positive update to fans

Alexander Zverev has confirmed that his recovery is going well and he is definitely planning to get some action in December. Zverev, 25, hasn’t played since tearing several ankle ligaments during his French Open semifinal against Rafael Nadal.

Zverev, who was targeting to return in September by representing Germany at the Davis Cup Finals, sustained a bone edema while preparing to return and than ultimately sealed his season. In December, the inaugural World Tennis League in Dubai is set to launch.

The tournament is scheduled to take place between December 19-24, with Novak Djokovic, Nick Kyrgios, Elena Rybakina and Bianca Andreescu also among participants. Zverev has returned to the practice court and he is targeting to play some matches next month.

“Hey guys, quick update. I am very happy to be back on court, also excited to be finally starting competing in December and be back in Dubai at the World Tennis League. It’s going to be exciting. See you guys there,” Zverev said a video for the World Tennis League.

Zverev set to play two events in December

Before Zverev goes to the United Arab Emirates and Dubai, he will first make a stop in Saudi Arabia. Between December 08-10, the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia is set to take place.

In 2019, the Diriyah Tennis Cup held its inaugural edition. Back then, Zverev was among the participants. Now, Zverev is looking forward to returning to Saudi Arabia. “I’m happy that I’ll finally be back on the court after my injury.
